Sebi to ‘weed out’ outdated policies, rationalise those necessary: Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey
Tuhin Kanta Pandey, the chairman of the Sebi, declared on Saturday that the market watchdog would "weed out" obsolete regulations and rationalize those that were required. Speaking at the Mint India Investment Summit & Awards 2025, Tuhin Kanta Pandey made the statements. According to Pandey, SEBI will eliminate any antiquated policies and rationalize any that might be required.
"This will be in line with our goal of attaining optimal regulation and facilitating business operations by lowering the burden of compliance and the expense of regulation," he continued. The head of Sebi added that the market watchdog is doing everything it can to quickly raise money in the markets.
According to Mint, Pandey stated, "SEBI prescribes norms for issuers of securities to ensure that funds are raised without delay and deployed efficiently." "In order to ensure that the fundraising documents are cleared as quickly as possible without sacrificing disclosures, SEBI is utilizing technology internally, including artificial intelligence."
