Every year, the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) organizes the International Mathematics Olympiad (SOF IMO) for children in grades 1-12 in schools around the country. The Mathematics Olympiad evaluates students' knowledge and skills in mathematical reasoning and logical aptitude, using a curriculum designed to help pupils identify their academic genius in mathematics.

Here's a glance at the eligibility criteria and other facts from the official website. The IMO level 1 and 2 syllabus covers a variety of topics, including algebra, trigonometry, geometry, linear equations, differential equations, limits and derivatives, integers, and probability. Check out the full IMO syllabus here.

Schools can apply for the exam up to 30 days in advance. Students cannot apply individually. The winners of the SOF IMP are eligible for a variety of honors and scholarships. These include worldwide, zonal, and school-level accolades. The top three international rank holders receive cash awards, medals, and certificates, with zonal and school-level winners being recognized. SOF also recognizes schools and instructors for their contributions to student success through awards. School principals and teachers are often given gratitude certificates and presents.
