JNUSU Polls: Voting concludes, results on April 28

Voting for the 2024-25 Students' Union elections has finished at Jawaharlal Nehru University, with voter turnout expected to be over 70%. According to the JNU Students' Union Election Committee, more than 69.6% of students voted. However, this was a minor decrease from the 73% recorded in 2023. However, it remains the greatest turnout between 2012-13 and 2023-24.

Approximately 5,500 students out of 7,906 eligible voters cast ballots. Polling took place at 17 locations across campus in two sessions, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Voting was mainly peaceful, while some delays were observed, particularly at the School of Language center, where polling began late due to the absence of two counsellors' names on the ballot. Voting at one center began at 11 a.m., while other centers experienced delays of up to half an hour.
