‘Black Monday’ of 1987 ahead? Expert warns of ‘bloodbath’ in global markets on April 7 amid Trump tariff turmoil

Jim Cramer predicts that Monday's stock market session will probably resemble the October 19, 1987, "Black Monday," which was recognized as the first modern global financial catastrophe. In the current trade war between the United States and other countries, Cramer emphasized that the direction of the financial markets will be based on the next action made by US President Donald Trump.

According to the news source, he stated, "I'm not going to be constructive here if President Trump remains intransigent and does nothing to ameliorate the damage that I saw these last few days."

"The 1987 scenario—where we went down three days and then down 22% on Monday—has the most cogency if the president doesn't try to reach out and reward these nations and businesses that follow the rules," Cramer stated. But the expert also pointed out that, according to the news source, everyone is now waiting for Donald Trump to do something that can change a bear market into a bull market.
