MS Dhoni, Hayden Among ICC Hall of Fame Inductees; Dhoni Reacts

MS Dhoni has been officially inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, joining an elite group that includes Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, and Daniel Vettori. On the women’s side, Sarah Taylor of England and Sana Mir of Pakistan were also honored.

Reacting to the announcement, Dhoni said:

“It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It’s something I will cherish forever.”

Dhoni, the only Indian captain to win the ODI World Cup, T20 World Cup, and Champions Trophy, also led India to the No. 1 Test ranking. Though he retired from international cricket, the 43-year-old still features in the IPL.

The ICC praised Dhoni’s early composure and leadership, particularly when he led a young, untested Indian side to a surprise victory in the 2007 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, following a disappointing World Cup campaign earlier that year. Under his captaincy, future stars like Rohit Sharma, RP Singh, Robin Uthappa, and Dinesh Karthik rose to prominence playing fearless cricket.
