Neeraj Chopra wins Paris Diamond League with brilliant opening throw
Neeraj Chopra clinched his first Diamond League win of the season in Paris with an opening throw of 88.16m, enough to outpace the field, including rival Julian Weber. Though victorious, Chopra remained self-critical, noting his fast run-up and lack of full control in his technique.
Reflecting on the performance, he said, “It was a good start and I’m happy with the result, but I was hoping for better throws today.” Despite his high standards, the night marked another successful international outing for India’s star javelin thrower.
After surpassing the 90m mark in Doha but losing the event, Chopra now continues to chase the perfect blend of distance and victory in a single competition.
