India slams Pakistan at UN: 'Stop using false claims for vile agenda'
India Slams Pakistan at UN, Cites Terrorism and Child Rights Violations
India’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish, delivered a scathing response to Pakistan during the UN Security Council's open debate on Children and Armed Conflict. He strongly criticized Pakistan for making "politically motivated remarks" and misusing the platform to deflect attention from its own serious issues.
Ambassador Harish accused Pakistan of violating the Council’s agenda and using the forum to pursue a “nefarious agenda” by casting “unwarranted aspersions over UN processes” and smearing India in global forums.
He rejected Pakistan’s allegations and pointed to the UN Secretary-General’s report, which highlights atrocities against children within Pakistan itself. Harish further condemned the continued use of cross-border terrorism by Pakistan as a deliberate state policy.
Citing the recent April 22, 2025, terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir—where 26 tourists were killed by Pakistani and Pakistani-trained terrorists—Harish reminded the Council of the human cost of Pakistan’s actions.
He also referred to the May 2025 shelling of Indian border villages by the Pakistani army, which led to civilian casualties, calling out Islamabad’s hypocrisy in preaching at international forums while engaging in aggressive behavior.
Reaffirming India’s sovereignty, he asserted:
“The entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has been, is, and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India, regardless of Pakistan’s repeated lies and falsehoods.”
India’s sharp rebuke reflects growing international frustration over Pakistan’s repeated attempts to internationalize the Kashmir issue while ignoring its internal human rights record.
