Cristiano Ronaldo Signs Contract Extension with Saudi Club Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo has officially extended his stay with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr, signing a new two-year contract that will keep him at the Riyadh-based side beyond his 42nd birthday.
The 40-year-old Portugal captain joined Al-Nassr in December 2022 after a high-profile exit from Manchester United. His initial contract was set to expire at the end of June 2025, fueling speculation about a possible departure — but those rumors have now been laid to rest.
Announcing the extension via a post on X (formerly Twitter), Ronaldo said: “A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together.”
Though Al-Nassr have yet to win a domestic league title during Ronaldo’s tenure, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been prolific, scoring 35 goals in 41 appearances last season and claiming the league’s top scorer title for the second year running. His overall tally stands at 99 goals in 111 appearances for the club.
With a combined career total of 938 goals for club and country, Ronaldo is now closing in on the 1,000-goal milestone — a feat unmatched in modern football.
Fresh off helping Portugal win the UEFA Nations League just weeks ago, Ronaldo appears focused on maintaining top form, with his sights now set on a potential sixth FIFA World Cup appearance next summer.
