Regupathy: Amit Shah 'daydreaming' of NDA rule in TN by 2026

Minister for Natural Resources S. Regupathy on Friday said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was “daydreaming” about National Democratic Alliance (NDA) forming the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026.

Mr. Amit Shah was completely unaware of the reality in Tamil Nadu, Mr. Regupathy told journalists at Sittanavasal in the district. He was responding to a question on the interview given by Mr. Amit Shah to a Tamil daily in which the latter asserted that the NDA would form the government in Tamil Nadu with the BJP as part of it in 2026.

The Minister said the DMK-headed alliance would form the government in the 2026 elections. To a question, Mr. Regupathy said there was no need for the DMK to create confusion regarding the recently held Lord Murugan conference in Madurai. It was the BJP which had created confusion and not the DMK. Did the DMK make an audio-visual presentation at the conference portraying Periyar and Anna in poor light, Mr. Regupathy asked.

Claiming that the Centre had not released adequate funds to Tamil Nadu, Mr. Regupathy said there was no need for the DMK government to stall development schemes of the centre in Tamil Nadu.
