Harmeet Singh mourns Shefali Jariwala: "Painful to miss her last rites"
Actor and model Shefali Jariwala, best known for her breakout role in the 2002 hit music video Kaanta Laga, passed away late Friday after suffering a cardiac arrest at her Mumbai residence. Her last rites were held on Saturday evening in Mumbai, attended by close friends and family.
Among those who mourned her loss was her ex-husband, musician Harmeet Singh of Meet Bros, who shared a heartfelt message on Instagram. Posting a picture of Shefali, he wrote:
"One of the most shocking moments of my life. I'm absolutely shattered and in disbelief after hearing about Shefali's sudden and untimely demise."
Harmeet reflected on their past together, saying:
"We shared a few beautiful years together a long time ago—memories I'll always hold close to my heart. My deepest condolences to her parents, Satish ji and Sunita ji, her husband Parag, and her sister Shivani."
He added that he was in Europe at the time and deeply pained to miss her final rites.
"Gone far too soon. I pray to the Almighty for her soul to rest in peace and for strength to the family during this unimaginable time. Jai Shree Krishna," he concluded.
Shefali was married to Harmeet from 2004 until their divorce in 2009. She later married actor Parag Tyagi, with whom she participated in Nach Baliye. She also made a notable appearance in Bigg Boss 13.
Visuals from outside the hospital showed Parag visibly emotional. The family has yet to issue an official statement.
Shefali's sudden demise has left the entertainment industry and fans in deep shock.
