Rahul Gandhi's "Narendra Surrender" Dig at PM Modi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, alleging that he “surrendered” during last month’s conflict with Pakistan—Operation Sindoor—after a phone call from US President Donald Trump.

Speaking at an event in Bhopal, Gandhi claimed, “A call came from Trump, and Narendraji immediately surrendered. History is witness to this. This is the character of BJP and RSS.” He further mocked, “Narendraji followed Trump saying ‘Narender, surrender’ by replying ‘Yes, sir’.”

The BJP responded swiftly. Party spokesperson Tuhin Sinha, speaking to NDTV, slammed Gandhi’s comments as "misleading" and claimed they made him “sound like a spokesperson of Pakistan’s ISI.”

Gandhi's remarks come amid ongoing political sparring over the handling of the 100-hour military exchange between India and Pakistan in May. President Trump has previously claimed he played a role in halting the escalation—a claim India has consistently denied.
