RCB Parade Tragedy: ₹10L Aid for Victims, Free Treatment for Injured
A celebratory gathering turned into a tragedy outside Bengaluru's Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday (June 4, 2025), where a stampede during RCB's IPL title celebration claimed 11 lives and left 33 injured. Scattered shoes, sandals, and fan merchandise near the venue bore silent witness to the chaos that unfolded.
As thousands gathered to celebrate RCB's maiden IPL title win, the crowd swelled to unmanageable numbers. In the ensuing panic, six deaths were reported at Bowring Hospital in Shivajinagar, four more at Vydehi Hospital on Mallya Road, and one at Manipal Hospital.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He announced ₹10 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased and promised free treatment for the injured. A magisterial probe has been ordered, with the CM assuring that action will be taken against anyone found responsible. After visiting the injured at Bowring and Vydehi hospitals, he emphasized that such a tragedy should never have occurred. A total of 47 outpatients were treated.
