James Bond 007 First Light game revealed at PlayStation event

IO Interactive has officially announced 007 First Light, a third-person action-adventure game, at Sony’s State of Play event. The game reimagines James Bond’s origin story, focusing on a younger Bond as he begins his MI6 career.

Set to release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, and Switch 2, it features Bond at 26 years old—sharp but still learning the spy trade. Classic characters like M, Q, and Moneypenny appear in new versions, and Lennie James from The Walking Dead plays Bond’s mentor, John Greenway.

Developed by the creators of the Hitman series, IO Interactive started working on the project in 2020. The game will support PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements, including PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), and run at 60 FPS in Quality Mode.

The cinematic trailer showcases Bond navigating the early challenges of espionage, learning when to fight, bluff, or vanish into the shadows. Fans can expect a fresh take on the iconic spy’s beginnings with immersive gameplay and a gripping storyline.
