Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid launched with upgraded features and tech additions

The motorcycle now gets a TFT instrument console, bringing it on par with its competitors.

Yamaha, although very quiet, sells a hybrid motorcycle in India, in the form of the FZ-X hybrid, and the Japanese motorcycle maker has updated the motorcycle with a few goodies for 2025. So, what are the updates on the new Yamaha FZ-X hybrid that was launched at Rs 1.49 lakh? Here are the details.

2025 Yamaha FZ-X hybrid — what’s new?

The update comes in the form of features that the Yamaha FZ-X hybrid gets. The motorcycle now gets a TFT instrument console, bringing it on par with its competitors. That said, it also features phone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, a crucial feature for a commuter in the modern world. Alongside navigation, the motorcycle gets real-time directions, navigation index, intersection details, and road names.

That said, there are no changes to its retro design and the motorcycle continues to be powered by a 149cc fuel-injected single-cylinder engine that makes 12.2bhp and 13.3Nm of torque with the help of a 5-speed manual gearbox. The motorcycle also features traction control and a single-channel ABS.

The motorcycle features a hybrid system in the form of a Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS). This helps the motorcycle start quietly, helps with acceleration, and also save fuel by killing the engine automatically when stopped at a red light. For those not willing to opt for a hybrid version, Yamaha also sells the standard version for Rs 1.29 lakh.

Commenting on the launch, Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said, “We were thrilled by the overwhelming response to our Hybrid Technology when we introduced it in the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid. Extending this breakthrough to the FZ-X model felt like a natural next step. We are confident that adding hybrid power to the FZ-X model will further boost Yamaha’s appeal, particularly among riders who seek a practical yet premium riding experience.”

He added, “At Yamaha, we continually listen to our customers’ evolving needs, and this latest offering underscores our commitment to innovation. By integrating advanced technology with a deep understanding of rider needs, Yamaha is redefining the future of mobility
