Alice Cooper urges Liam and Noel Gallagher: ‘Stop the squabbling, guys’

Rock legend Alice Cooper has weighed in on one of the most infamous sibling rivalries in music — that of Oasis frontmen Liam and Noel Gallagher. In a recent interview, the shock rock icon offered a bit of heartfelt advice to the feuding brothers, urging them to bury the hatchet and reunite for the sake of music fans worldwide.

“Stop the squabbling, guys,” Cooper said, noting how Oasis left an indelible mark on rock history and still has an enormous global fanbase eagerly waiting for their return. “The world wants to see you back on stage together. There are very few bands that capture lightning in a bottle the way Oasis did.”

Cooper, who has seen his fair share of band breakups and reconciliations over his decades-long career, said egos and personal differences should never get in the way of music that changes lives. “We’ve all had fights, disagreements. But when the music is that good, you owe it to the fans — and to yourselves — to make it work.”

The Gallagher brothers, whose public fallout led to Oasis splitting in 2009, have continued their solo careers, but rumors of a reunion pop up nearly every year. Cooper's plea adds to a long list of artists and fans alike hoping the duo can put aside their differences.

Whether this call from one of rock’s elder statesmen will make an impact remains to be seen, but if anyone can speak to the power of music and reconciliation, it’s Alice Cooper.
