Days before death, 'Atheist Krishna' texted: ‘It’ll be a miracle if I survive’

Krishna, a well-known digital creator from Hyderabad who went by the handle ‘Atheist Krishna’ on X (formerly Twitter), has passed away due to pneumonia-related complications. Famous for his humorous Photoshop edits, memes, and thoughtful digital restorations of old family photos, Krishna had built a strong fan base online. His death has left the digital community shocked and heartbroken.

The creator had been battling illness for several weeks. On July 10, just days before his death, Krishna messaged a Bengaluru-based woman and fellow X user, @nainaverse, revealing that he had been diagnosed with pneumonia. “It would be a miracle if I survive this,” he wrote, along with pictures from his hospital bed. He shared that water had been detected in his lungs, and he was preparing for an operation.

@Nainaverse, visibly shaken by the news, posted screenshots of their conversation on X. “Woke up to the terrible news of @Atheist_Krishna passing away. He was one of the kindest people I met on this platform,” she wrote. A day before his passing, she reached out again, only to receive a reply the next morning from Krishna’s brother, informing her that Krishna had died in the early hours.

Who Was Atheist Krishna?

Krishna was celebrated for his clean, witty humor and Photoshop mastery. His work often involved restoring and enhancing old, blurry photos of people’s parents and grandparents — a gesture that earned him heartfelt appreciation from users across the internet.

His talent also caught the attention of major public figures. Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar once sent him a personal video message, praising his ability to bring joy through digital art. “Some of my friends follow your content and show me the incredible work you do with Photoshop… I showed one of your memes to our Prime Minister and he had a hearty laugh,” Kumar said.

Known for his rationalist views and gentle satire, Krishna used his platform to spread joy and question societal norms with grace and humor. His sudden death has left a void in the creative and digital community, with many remembering him not just for his art — but also for his kindness and humanity.

Gone too soon, Atheist Krishna's legacy will live on through the laughter and love he brought to countless lives online.
