Bhopal drug bust uncovers exploitation ring in gyms, colleges
Bhopal Crime Branch arrested four men linked to a drug and trafficking network operating in gyms, clinics and college campuses. However, what seemed like a routine bust soon revealed a far more disturbing reality and the police realised the drug trafficking is just the tip of the iceberg.
During the investigation, police recovered several videos from one of the accused's phones showing young women being drugged and sexually assaulted, uncovering a more sinister operation than first suspected.
The case began with the arrest of two drug peddlers, Saifuddin and Ashu alias Shahrukh, found in possession of MD drugs three days ago. Interrogation led authorities to two more suspects, Yaseen, who was a local club DJ and Shavar, a real estate businessman.
While examining Yaseen's phone, police uncovered more than 20 disturbing videos showing sexual assaults on women and violent attacks on men, along with a series of threatening messages. Several of the women seen in the footage are believed to be college students.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to targeting young women at gyms by offering so-called "weight loss drugs" and approaching club-goers with claims the substances could help with "depression."
