Kolkata gangrape: Cops recreate crime scene with 4 arrested accused

Four people accused in the Kolkata gangrape case were brought to South Calcutta Law College on Friday as the West Bengal Police moved to reconstruct the crime scene.

A police team reportedly took alumnus and contractual staff Monojit Mishra, students Pramit Mukherjee and Zaib Ahmed, and security guard Pinaki Banerjee to the institute in the Kasba area shortly after 4 a.m. to reconstruct the 25 June incident.

The reconstruction of the crime scene is a vital part of the investigation. We completed the task today. The four accused persons were taken to the South Calcutta Law College early this morning, and the task is done," a police officer told news agency PTI.

It took over four hours to complete the process, the report added. The entire reconstruction process was carried out in the presence of a huge police team. It lasted more than four hours, following which the four were taken back to the police station.
