Tata's New SUV Rival to Mahindra Thar! Key Specs & Features Revealed

Tata has recently revealed plans to launch a slew of new entrants by 2030. One of the planned new launches would be a vehicle codenamed the Scarlet, a sub 4 meter model that could be a boxy SUV with advanced off-roading capabilities.

New Tata Compact SUV Segmen

The new Tata Scarlet would be based on a monocoque chassis compatible with Internal combustion and Electric Powertrains. It's possible that the SUV might use Nexon's 120Hp, 1.2 Litre Turbo petrol Engine or the the Curvv 125 Hp, 1.2 litre Direct Injection Turbo petrol Engine. The car could be powered by the new naturally aspirated 1.5 litre engine that would power the Tata Sierra.

If Tata plans to launch the same vehicle in a EV variant as well, its possible that it might be equipped with the same QWD setup that we have seen on the Tata Harrier EV. But going by the variant choice the AWD setup would be a variant-specific choice.

Recent media reports have also revealed, that Tata motors also has plans to launch two More compact all electric -cars. These models have been codenamed Kuno and the Terra, all likely to be compact SUVs. Its Tata's strategy to launch two models in every segment, entry, mid, and high-Level.
