National Space Day 2025: Mysuru event showcases space tech benefits
At the University of Mysore, the National Space Day 2025 celebrations shed light on the wide-ranging benefits of space science and technology for society. Former ISRO Space Science Programme Director S. Seetha, in her special lecture “From Rockets to Satellite Missions — Growth of Space Science in India”, explained how applications like disaster warning systems, urban planning, and agriculture are directly improving lives.
The event was jointly organized by the Cosmology Education and Research Training Centre (COSMOS), Mysuru, of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, along with the University of Mysore. National Space Day was instituted to commemorate the success of Chandrayaan-3 and its historic landing on the moon’s southern polar region on August 23, 2023.
