Meeting Held with Daegu Mayor
A few hours before the match between Daegu FC and FC Barcelona, an official event took place at the team's hotel in Daegu. President Joan Laporta and board members traveling with the team met with Jung-ki Kim, the mayor of Daegu.
Also attending the meeting were Tae Won Choi, president of the Daegu Football Association, Kwang Rae Cho, CEO of Daegu FC, Seul Ha, CEO of D-Drive, and Hyeongseok Kim, vice president of Nam Hai.
Joan Laporta expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome in South Korea. He said the club was happy to be in Daegu and felt at home, noting the presence of passionate fans. He described the upcoming match against Daegu FC as a great spectacle.
Mayor Jung-ki Kim welcomed the Barcelona delegation and highlighted the shared values between the two cities. He said Daegu could learn much from Barcelona and emphasized the significance of the visit. The mayor added that the match helps raise Daegu’s global profile, alongside other upcoming international events such as the 2026 World Masters Athletics Championships and the ISSF Shooting World Championships.
