57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas have been authorized by the Union Cabinet
On Wednesday, the opening of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across the globe was approved by the Union Cabinet. Fifty of the 57 new KVs will be sponsored by state governments, while seven will be supported by the Ministry of Home Affairs. In addition to opening 20 KVs in districts without a Kendriya Vidyalaya at the moment, the Cabinet has also suggested opening 14 KVs in Aspirational districts, 4 KVs in LWE districts, and 5 KVs in NER/Hilly areas.
14 lakh students are currently enrolled in 1,288 Kendriya Vidyalayas that operate both domestically and overseas. Three KVs—in Tehran, Kathmandu, and Moscow—are operating overseas out of the total number.
This new announcement will provide high-quality, reasonably priced education to 87,000 pupils. There will be 4600 more teaching positions filled. The government will invest 5863 crores in establishing 57 KVs throughout.
