"Can be done, but...": Former WHO chief comments on the discussion of a 90-hour workweek
Working long workweeks, as proposed by L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan and Infosys Founder Narayana Murthy, can be done, but not for extended periods of time, according to former WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan.
"I know a lot of people who work very hard," the former head of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) told PTI. Therefore, I believe it is a personal matter, and you must pay attention to your body when it signals that you are fatigued.
"You can really work hard, let's say for a few months," she remarked, reflecting on the COVID-19 pandemic's many repercussions, including on human health and workplace culture. We all done that during COVID, don't we? Could we have done that together for years, though? I don't know.
