Ola Electric stores see raids, seizures for allegedly not having trade certificates: Report

Due to the outlets' purported lack of trade certificates, Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. is facing regulatory issues as a result of raids, showroom closures, car seizures, and show-cause orders from transport authorities in several states.

According to Bloomberg, which cited internal documents and government warning letters, only slightly more than 100 of the company's approximately 3,400 showrooms (for which data is available) actually possessed the fundamental certification required to display, sell, provide test rides on, or transport unregistered two-wheelers.

Every car showroom, including two-wheeler showrooms, is required by India's Motor Vehicles Act to prominently display a trade certificate if it maintains unregistered vehicles.
