Sensex, Nifty 50 today: Stock market opens flat; Auto, IT, pharma down the most

Today's Sensex and Nifty 50: On Friday, March 28, the trading session started with the stock market flat but down. Pharma, IT, and auto were the most affected. The benchmark BSE Sensex was down 22.13 points, or 0.03 percent, at 77,584.30 at 9.15 a.m. At 23,589.85, the wider NSE Nifty opened 2.10 points lower, or 0.01 percent lower.

Upon starting at ₹1,594.95, Infosys experienced the largest decline of any of the 30 Sensex equities, down 0.54%. Zomato, which was down 0.53% and trading at 204.65, and IndusInd Bank, which was down 0.35% and trading at 671.25, came next. Twenty of the Sensex stocks, though, were up.

The Nifty Auto Index dropped the highest among them, down 0.37 percent to 21,436.35. Next in line were Nifty IT, which down 0.15 percent to 37,491.45, and Nifty Pharma, which fell 0.05 percent to 21,263.95.
