A Pakistani official was refused admission to the United States while on vacation: Report
The News, a Pakistani media outlet, said that the United States ejected Pakistan's envoy to Turkmenistan from Los Angeles and refused him admission. According to reports, US immigration officers halted Ambassador KK Wagan as he was traveling to Los Angeles for a holiday.
"K K Wagan, an ambassador, was expelled from the United States. He was deported due to an immigration objection," a top Pakistani Foreign Ministry official told The News on Monday.
According to the article, US immigration alerted Wagan because of "controversial visa references." It is yet unknown, though, exactly what these issues are and which particular allusions set off the activity. Diplomatic concerns were raised about how the incident was handled when he was stopped and supposedly made to return to his original departure point by US authorities.
