Ukrainian President Zelensky, days after a spat with US President Donald Trump in the White House, recorded a video message on Monday expressing his gratitude to the US and asserting that the key to put an end to the war are security assurances.

Following Trump's public criticism of Zelensky for not being more appreciative of the United States' assistance during the war, the Ukrainian president addressed his nation's citizens in a video message on X, formerly Twitter, stating that they "understand the importance of the United States" and are appreciative of all the assistance they have received from the US.

"We have always been grateful, no matter the day. In the video, Zelensky expressed thanks for both their own security and the maintenance of our freedom, saying, "Our resilience in Ukraine is based on what our partners are doing for us.
