Donald Trump expects Russia will act morally and calls Putin's remarks on Ukraine "promising" but "not complete."

US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that although Russian President Vladimir Putin had issued "a very promising statement" regarding a potential peace with Ukraine, it was not comprehensive.

 The statement was made just hours after Putin stated that while he supported the notion of a truce, he wanted to talk to Trump about his severe concerns about its implementation.

"I'd love to meet with him or talk to him," Trump told reporters after meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office. But we need to finish it quickly.

 In fact, many of the specifics of a final deal have been addressed. We'll now see if Russia is present; if not, the world will be in for a very disappointing moment," Trump stated.
