Himachal Pradesh: Ex-Congress MLA shot at his residence in Bilaspur, hospitalised

Bamber Thakur, a former Congress MLA, was shot at by unidentified assailants at his residence in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur. Thakur, along with his personal security officer were injured in the attack, PTI quoted police officials as saying.

The attackers fired about 12 rounds of gunfire, according to the police. Following the attack, the PSO was taken to AIIMS Bilaspur, while Thakur was sent to Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla.

"During the alleged firing in Bilaspur, two individuals were hurt, including former MLA Bambar Thakur. PSO Sanjay was sent to AIIMS, and the former MLA was at IGMC Bilaspur," Bilaspur Superintendent of Police (SP) Sandeep Dhawan informed ANI.
