The ₹300-crore budget for 2025–2026 has been approved by Panchkula MC.
In a meeting on Monday, the municipal corporation (MC) approved a budget of ₹300 crore for the fiscal year 2025–2026. Additionally, the MC listed its revenue streams for the upcoming fiscal year. One of the main forecasts is ₹28 crore from property tax, for which defaulters have already received warnings pushing them to pay their past-due amounts.
For the fiscal year 2025–2026, the stamp duty has been set at ₹60 crore as a revenue stream. Despite the fact that no money was made under the land sale and purchase heading in 2024–2025, the MC has set a target of ₹11 crore. According to the MC, new development plans will increase land sales and aid in reaching the goal.
According to an agreement, the MC must get 75% of the money made from building plan approvals and plot sales from the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP). But as of yet, no money has been received. Under this component, the MC has estimated that HSVP will generate ₹25 crore in revenue. The MC also wants to recoup ₹5 crore from permits for commercial advertising.
