
As media, metal, and pharmaceutical stocks rise, the stock market opens in a positive manner.

On Monday, March 10, when the week's trading session got underway, the stock market started the day higher, with the biggest gains coming from media, metal, and pharmaceutical firms. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 54.86 points, or 0.07 percent, at 9:15 a.m., closing at 74,387.44. However, the more general NSE Nifty opened flat, up just 1.90 points, or 0.01 percent, to 22,554.40.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries opened at ₹1,636.30, up 1.64 percent, the highest of the 30 Sensex stocks. Bharti Airtel, which increased by 0.61 percent, trading at ₹1,641.35, and Zomato, which was up 0.97 percent, trading at ₹218.90, came next. Zomato was down 1.15 percent at ₹222.80, the third-highest drop among the Sensex equities at the start of Friday. Fifteen stocks in the Sensex were up.
