Before determining how to move forward with US investments, automakers and part suppliers are awaiting clarification on US President Donald Trump's trade policies.“Something concrete has to be put on the table,” a Bloomberg report quoted Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume as having said during the company’s annual press conference last week.

The report also stated that the business's prior alternatives were to increase operations in Mexico, use a factory it was developing in South Carolina, or expand a plant in Tennessee. At the moment, the company is mainly considering possibilities in the US Southeast.

Because of the tariff threats, Paslin, a company that manufactures assembly lines for automakers, is reconsidering how to make the most of a plant it recently constructed in Mexico. By sending as many engines as possible from Canada to the US far in advance of their demand, Ford Motor Company, on the other hand, is attempting to avoid levies.
