The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has given an official call for a two-day nationwide strike on March 24 and 25. According to news agency ANI, this goes beyond their numerous requests, which include hiring enough people in every cadre, regularizing temporary workers, and implementing a 5-day workweek in the financial sector.

The walkout is the result of fruitless negotiations on important objectives with the Indian Banks' Association (IBA). A five-day workweek and hiring all cadres were the main topics of discussion, according to a report by news agency PTI.

According to the report, the demands included filling the positions of officer director and workman in public sector banks, resolving outstanding issues with the IBA, and amending the Gratuity Act to raise the ceiling to ₹25 lakh, bringing it into line with the government employee program and requesting income tax exemption.
