Budget 2025 LIVE: Union Cabinet approves Budget 2025, FM Nirmala Sitharaman to give speech shortly

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has reached the Parliament ahead of her eighth consecutive Union Budget 2025 presentation in the Lok Sabha today. Earlier in the day, Sitharaman visited President Droupadi Murmu for her nod on the Budget. The Union cabinet is now expected to meet ahead of the Budget speech scheduled at 11 am today (February 1, 2025).

The high-stakes Budget comes amid industry-wide expectations of capex growth and income tax relief for the salaried class. The first part of the Budget Session in the Parliament on Friday (January 31), with the Economic Survey 2025, released by FM Sitharaman. From today's budget, India Inc. widely anticipates the government's measures on higher allocation towards boosting infrastructure, ease of doing business, artificial intelligence (AI) models, among others.
