Not planning to change retirement age of govt employees: Centre

The centre announced on Wednesday that it is not considering to change the retirement age of government employees. According to a PTI report, Union Minister of State for Personnel Singh stated that the government is not considering any proposals to raise the retirement age of government employees.
Additionally, Singh stated in a written response to the Lok Sabha that the government has no mechanism in place to eliminate the vacancies brought about by employee retirement. The report cited the minister's response to the question of whether any government employee unions or organizations had called for modifications to the retirement age: "no formal proposal has been received from staff side of National Council (Joint Consultative machinery)."
Singh said that "no such data is centrally maintained in the government as the subject matter falls in the State List" when asked to provide the retirement age information for both federal and state government personnel, along with the explanations for any discrepancies in this information.
