Pensioners may soon be able to make EPFO claims via UPI: Labour secretary

To speed up transactions and improve convenience, the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) plans to include the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). According to Sumita Dawra, the labor and employment secretary, "our next step is to incorporate UPI into the system," as reported by news agency ANI on Monday.
"We have sent a proposal to EPFO for review after receiving recommendations on this integration from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)," she stated. According to Dawra, the EPFO has set up a centralized database for this reason, and the UPI frontend for EPFO claims might be launched by the end of May following the completion of the required testing.
This implies that every member has the ability to examine and make auto-claims for their EPFO accounts directly through the UPI interface. Additionally, as long as the customer qualifies, the approval process will be instantaneous, guaranteeing prompt credit to their accounts.
