Samsung broadens AI phone lineup with $300 5G galaxy models

With upgraded versions in its more reasonably priced A series, Samsung Electronics Co. is increasing the number of devices that support new artificial intelligence functions.
The company's new lineup includes three 6.7-inch 5G phones with AI-enhanced photo editing and Circle to Search, with the Galaxy A26 starting at $299.99. In addition to adding improvements for night photography and a Best Face function that helps maximize group shots, Samsung is integrating aspects of its flagship software throughout the rest of its range with the $499.99 Galaxy A56.
Days after Apple Inc. unveiled the $599 iPhone 16e, a more affordable entry point for customers interested in its ecosystem, Samsung has begun to introduce more capable low-cost gadgets. At a time when all AI developers are making significant investments in scaling up, the new models represent an attempt by both companies to attract additional customers.
