
Stock market opens green after last week's crash; Auto, metals, real estate rise

The auto, metal, and real estate sectors saw the biggest gains as the trading session got underway on Monday, March 3. At 9:20 am, the benchmark BSE Sensex increased by 417.56 points or 0.57 per cent, reaching 73,615.66. The broader NSE Nifty opened 127.75 points up or 0.58 per cent in the green, reaching 22,252.45.
When it opened, UltraTech Cement was up 3%, trading at ₹10,417.35, the highest of the 30 Sensex equities. Next in line were Larsen & Toubro, up 1.66 percent, trading at ₹3,217.35, and Mahindra & Mahindra, up 2.72 percent, trading at ₹2,654.40. On the other hand, on the opening of the previous session, Mahindra & Mahindra's stock experienced the second-largest decline of 2.86 percent.
The Nifty Auto Index increased the most among the Nifty sectors indices, rising 1.37 percent to 20,779.90. Next in line were Nifty Metal, which increased 1.24 percent to 8,321.30, and Nifty Realty, which increased 1.15 percent to 807.05. On the other hand, the indexes that experienced the biggest declines at the previous open were Metal and Auto.
