The US cautions companies against favoring migrant workers with the H-1B visa. Will it affect Indians?

The Trump administration wants to stop what it claims are unlawful hiring practices for foreign workers, particularly in relation to the H-1B visa program, which primarily benefits Indians. Consequently, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a federal organization, was entrusted with looking into the issue and protecting jobs for American workers.
On February 19, 2025, the committee cautioned companies against giving preference to international applicants over U.S. prospects. According to a Business Standard investigation, national origin discrimination in hiring is pervasive across a number of businesses, according to its acting head, Andrea Lucas.
Employers, employment firms, and other organizations found to be engaging in this behavior will face harsh penalties from the government. Because it permits US corporations to employ foreign specialists in degree-required disciplines including technology, engineering, and medical sciences, the H-1B visa in particular has drawn criticism.
