Delhi Airport Terminal 2 Reopens on October 26, 2025
Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport reopened Terminal 2 (T2) on October 26, 2025 after a major facelift designed to improve passenger flow and modernise operations. The refurbished T2 — originally built 40 years ago and upgraded to handle about 15 million passengers annually — was inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu ahead of the terminal’s resumption of services.
The revamped T2 introduces several passenger-facing technologies aimed at speeding check-in and security clearances. Key additions include Self Baggage Drop (SBD) units so travellers can tag and drop luggage without long check-in queues, and a high-resolution Flight Information Display System (FIDS) that offers real-time flight updates and gate guidance.
T2 also debuts six passenger boarding bridges with autonomous docking technology — the first installation of its kind in India — together with elevated ramps for wheelchair users and optimally adjusted cabins to speed boarding and disembarkation.
