Delhi Red Fort Blast Investigation White-Collar Terror

The deadly car explosion near the Red Fort, which claimed multiple lives, has dramatically revealed a chilling connection to a massive, previously foiled terror plot, forcing investigators to confront a sophisticated white-collar terror ecosystem. The pivotal investigative breakthrough centres on a Pulwama-based medical professional, Dr. Umar Un Nabi (also identified as Dr. Umar Mohammad), who sources now believe was driving the ill-fated Hyundai i20 and is the likely bomber.

The connection between the spontaneous blast on Netaji Subhash Marg and the staggering 2,900 kg explosives haul in Faridabad was a complex thread woven by meticulous intelligence and coordinated police work spanning three states. The investigation, spearheaded by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, initially began with the appearance of pro-Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) posters in Srinagar. This led to the arrest of another doctor, Dr. Adeel Ahmad Rather, in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

It was Dr. Rather’s interrogation that provided the crucial tip-off, leading police to Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, an assistant professor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad. Dr. Shakeel’s rented accommodations subsequently yielded the terrifying cache: approximately 2,900 kg of bomb-making material, primarily suspected ammonium nitrate, alongside assault rifles, timers, remote controls, and other components for manufacturing hundreds of IEDs.

The timeline of the Delhi Blast Investigation White-Collar Terror shows that the operation to dismantle this terror module was already underway when the Red Fort blast occurred. Dr. Umar Un Nabi, who belonged to the same village in Pulwama as Dr. Shakeel and also worked at the Al-Falah University campus, went missing immediately after his colleague.
