New Zealand Prime Minister announces scholarships for Indian students at IIT Delhi event

New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced a NZ$260,000 partial scholarship package under the New Zealand Excellence Awards (NZEA) 2025 while chairing an education-focused event at IIT Delhi on March 18. Furthermore, a novel online internship program was unveiled, giving 30 students from IIT Delhi the chance to work remotely for New Zealand businesses, gaining exposure to the country's workplace culture and cross-border industrial experience.
The occasion also recognized the accomplishments of collaborative research projects between India and New Zealand in fields such as advanced engineering, sustainability, disaster resilience, and artificial intelligence. According to a news statement from IIT Delhi, as part of the ongoing academic engagement, New Zealand and Indian schools are scheduled to sign a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to further deepen collaboration in areas like academic exchange, joint research, and student mobility.
