The comments were made the day after speaking with Mike Waltz, the national security adviser for the White House.

The interim truce suggested by the United States would provide a “temporary break for the Ukrainian military,” according to Yuri Ushakov, the foreign policy adviser to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
