During a training exercise on Thursday, a South Korean KF-16 fighter plane unintentionally delivered eight bombs on a civilian location. According to Reuters, the event happened in Pocheon, a city on the North Korean border, and has reportedly left eight people injured. It is roughly 40 kilometers northeast of Seoul, the nation's capital.

Unspecified civilian damages resulted from the MK-82 bombs that the KF-16 fighter plane "abnormally" dropped outside of a firing range, according to a statement from the South Korean Air Force. The Air Force would form a committee to look into the cause of the mishap and assess the extent of civilian damages, according to the statement that the Associated Press cited.

According to the statement, the fighter jet was participating in joint live-firing exercises between the air force and the army. The air force expressed regret for the harm it had caused to civilians and wished for a quick recovery for those hurt in the event. It stated that it will aggressively provide victims with compensation and other essential measures.
