Bihar Election 2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the RJD–Congress alliance at a Muzaffarpur rally, accusing the opposition of representing the “five identities” of a so-called “jungle raj” — katta (country-made guns), kroorta (cruelty), katuta (resentment), kushasan (misgovernance) and corruption. Modi said Bihar must reject a return to the lawlessness of the past and praised Chhath Puja as a unifying festival that the opposition had allegedly demeaned.
Without naming individuals, the prime minister also responded to Rahul Gandhi’s recent comment that called his Chhath Puja activities a “drama,” calling that remark an insult to Bihar’s traditions and vows that voters would remember it for generations. Modi framed the NDA’s campaign as one of cultural preservation and development, contrasting it with what he described as the opposition’s record of violence and looting under earlier RJD rule.
The speech comes as Bihar prepares for assembly elections in October–November 2025 across 243 seats, with the JD(U) and BJP leading the NDA while the RJD, Congress and Left fight under the INDIA coalition banner. Modi’s rhetoric seeks to sharpen the narrative for undecided voters by focusing on law-and-order, cultural respect and allegations of past kidnappings and criminality during RJD tenure — themes likely to shape campaign messaging in coming weeks.
