4 policemen killed, 3 terrorists gunned down in encounter in J&K's Kathua

According to reports cited by news agency PTI on Thursday, a day-long shootout in the remote forested area of the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir claimed the lives of three terrorists and four police officers.
According to officials, the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, with support from the Army and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), conducted the encounter that injured seven other police officers, including a deputy superintendent of police.
In a post on X on Friday morning, the Indian Army confirmed the officers' deaths. The courageous @JmuKmrPolice officers who gave their lives while battling heroically during the ongoing OP SAFIYAN in #Kathua are honored by #RisingStarCorps for their bravery and unwavering spirit. We will never forget their bravery and commitment," the Indian Army's Rising Star Corps said. Nevertheless, the post made no indication of the number of casualties.
