The successful undocking of the Indian Space Research Organization's (ISRO) Space Docking Experiment, SpaDex, was confirmed today, paving the way for upcoming missions like Chandrayaan-4 and others.
ISRO described the steps that lead to the successful experiment in a post on X. These steps included an SDX-2 extension, the scheduled release of capture lever 3, the disengagement of the SDX-2's capture lever, and the issuance of the de-capture command for both spacecraft.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of Science and Technology, also praised the team on X, writing, "Congratulations, ISRO team! It's encouraging for all Indians that SPADEX Satellites achieved the incredible De-Docking." "This opens the door for the successful execution of ambitious future missions, such as the Bharatiya Antriksha Station, Chandrayaan 4, and Gaganyaan," the minister continued. The constant support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi keeps the spirits high.
