Amid an NHRC investigation, 1,000 Nepalese pupils returned to school: KIIT

Bhubaneswar According to KIIT University, 1,000 of the 1,100 Nepalese students who left the school following the turmoil on February 16 have returned to the Bhubaneswar campus amid the NHRC and Odisha Police's investigation into the alleged suicide death of a B Tech girl student.

After Odisha's Higher Education Minister, Suryabanshi Suraj, told the Assembly that the state government established a professor committee to guarantee a suitable academic atmosphere on the KIIT campus, the private university made this assertion on Friday.

After the Nepalese students demanded justice for 20-year-old Prakriti Lamsal, who committed suicide in her dorm room on February 16, KIIT staff allegedly forced them off campus.
