On March 7, 2025, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled his 16th budget. The Karnataka budget's overall expenditure is ₹4 lakh crore, which is more than the ₹3.71 lakh crore spent the previous year. Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot's speech on March 3 marked the start of the legislative session.
GDP expansion
Both agriculture and the Karnataka state GDP have increased by 4% and 7.4%, respectively. At 6.2%, the state's GDP has grown faster than the national average.
