BJP's 'Alamgir Rahul-Zeb' swipe at Congress over contentious Muslim quota bill in Karnataka

Following the passage of a bill by the Congress-ruled Karnataka government that permits 4% reservation for Muslims in government contracts, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday took aim at Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra claimed that Rahul Gandhi pushed the state government's decision, alleging he was using the "crutches of Muslim quota" to advance his politics as he knows that he would not be otherwise able to deliver.
Patra also attacked Gandhi with a number of rhyming Urdu lines, claiming that he was politically unfit. Patra claimed that "Alamgir Rahul-Zeb" harbored the desire to become "Jahanpanah," alluding to the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
The BJP leader claimed that the Karnataka decision by the Congress government is just the start and will cause division in the nation. In pursuit of its appeasement politics, he asserted that the opposition party could even grant the minority community a "100% quota."
